With the unveiling of the 'We Are Home Court Advantage' banner Wednesday night (8/25/10), the Storm kicked off the 2010 WNBA playoffs with a convincing 79-66 win over Los Angeles. Veterans Sue Bird and Swin Cash powered the home team to their 18th consecutive victory at Key Arena this year in route to taking the first game of this 1st round series. It was off to LA for game 2 on Saturday (8/28/10) where Lauren Jackson put a stamp on her quest for league MVP by pouring in a game high 24 points and 9 rebounds to spur the Storm to an 81-66 win over the Sparks and sweep the series 2-0.
The Storm now move on to the WNBA Western Conference Championship series against the Phoenix Mercury with game one set for Thursday at Key Arena beginning at 7PM. Game two will be held in the Valley of the Sun on Sunday at 12PM, with game three (if necessary) back at the Key on Wednesday at 7PM.
